I have always enjoyed writing and I love how blogs combine writing and multi-media content. I have created content for a variety of blogs: James Madison University's student life blog , a social media research blog for a class project, and a personal fashion blog as a hobby. Google Online Marketing Challenge (GOMC)
I participated in the GOMC in a team of four, and my team won globally. The GOMC was a competition where teams were given a $250 AdWords advertising budget, provided by Google, to develop and run an online advertising campaign for a business or non-profit organization over a three week period. The competition included 12,000 students on 2,650+ teams from around the world. Students were judged on how well their accounts performed, as well as Pre-Campaign and Post-Campaign reports. The reports, shown below, included our AdWords strategy, objectives, what we learned, and more. As Team Leader for my group, I took the lead in writing and editing both our of reports.
Integrated Marketing Communications Plan
In an integrated marketing class at JMU, I created a marketing plan with five other students for a local non-profit organization. The plan is comprehensive and includes research, a campaign slogan, budget, buyer personas, suggested media outlets, mock advertisements and more. I designed all of the advertisements in the plan.
All business students at JMU have one semester where they take marketing, management, finance, and operations. Within these courses, students are assigned into teams and create a business plan throughout the semester. My team created a business with two streams of revenue: horse boarding and event rentals. Because of my strength as a writer, I wrote and edited a good amount of our plan, while the accounting majors in our group took the lead on the financial statements.
